Apilar bowl displays a playful accumulation of soft, pebble-like shapes, as a subtle nod to the stones in Japanese gardens. Apilar literally means ‘stacking’, and that is exactly what this collection does: build layers in form, in texture, in meaning. The shapes are not only visually layered, but also carry a story in their material: papier mâché, literally layers of paper, old and forgotten, reawakened to life.
